Meijer Outside the Mainstream Indie Music Promotion!


Songwriters seeking new avenue's for their work and wising to sell more CDs, well, here it is!

Meijer, a Michigan-based chain of 176 superstores, is seeking artists, singer/songwriters to sell their cd's.

The company is promoting a new program to sell homegrown music in its stores. Titled, "Meijer Outside the Mainstream", the program allows an unsigned singer, group or musician to have their previously recorded CD sold in Meijer stores chainwide.

A new performer will be chosen each month. The CDs will cost $7.49 each and will be featured in the grocer's ad circulars, which are sent weekly to 7 million households in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.

Requirements:

1. The CD must be commercially pressed, packaged and shrink wrapped.

2. You must have your own UPC label on the packaging of the CD label.

3. The material must be your own copyrighted material

4. For the current program you must live and be promoting your music in these five states: Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. The program will be venturing outside of this area at some point in the future.

5. This isn't a deal breaker but you should active in performing and pursing your career. This program is meant to enhance your songwriting career.

6. We are not accepting CD's that entirely comprise all traditional songs that are beyond copyright time frame. Example: Danny Boy, Mary Had A Little, Irish - Mexican - German - French folk songs. You get the idea.

7. You need to have available 1,000 CD's to distribute to the stores shelves. If you are selected as Artist of the Month you will be provided with more details.

NOTE: Some of you are still skeptical and with good reason. However, there is no financial requirement for this promotion. There is no entry fee for this promotion. You need only to submit your CD for review.

Aritst of the Month:

If you are selected as, "Artist of the Month", Meijer's will pay up front for your 1,000 CD's. We cannot disclose the price. It's a VERY fair price. You'll be happy.

Your CD, Photo and Name will be included in the monthly mailing to 7 million homes in this five state area.

If you 1,000 CD's sell out there is good possibility that the CD's will be re-ordered. The price will be negotiated at that time.
